Hello friends, It’s 10pm over here as I’m writing a very quick blog about my 2nd day in the Lake District. I’ve just had a truly amazing day which saw me and my boyfriend climb the Helvellyn mountains. It certainly wasn’t the Everest but it was a good 8 hour walk with the highest point reaching 950 metres/3,116ft and yes, I did a bit of mountain scrambling too which was fun when it was easy and not so much fun when it was right on the edge of the precipice *gasp*
Everyone seemed super equipped for the day except Lee and I who were wearing our shabby but comfortable pairs of jeans. No Me-Made-May’14 today I’m afraid, I’m sure I would have dazzled the adoring crowd around but it would have been a tad inappropriate.
View over the Red Tarn
Me at the top. Didn’t I look happy to have a break?
The scenery was absolutely outstanding…
And after the effort, time to chill by the lake for the two of us. Lee shows his “walk in the park” relaxed expression while I look well and truly f***ed.
Right, just stuffed my face at the same time as I wrote this and time now for a hot shower, some TV and then a good night sleep. Really wanted to share that moment and amazing place with you all. Legs are shattered but morale is high!
Have a great evening everybody!
Looks fab. Thought I may have seen you at NYlon sewing meet up in London. Great day.
I could not come to the event Sassy but I will be at the Makegood festival on May 31st as I already booked my ticket
Wow! How incredibly beautiful.
So agree, only wish I had a better camera to capture how beautiful it truly was!
Beautiful views.
It’s beautiful views non-stop over there Wil!
Stunning! Such a beautiful area.
Highly recommended! 🙂
i think you both look perfectly bucolic! can a person look bucolic? i suppose even in they can’t, in THAT setting, they can 🙂
It’s down to the beard I bet…it makes me look bucolic 🙂
Amazing landscape and pictures, when I went it was cold and rainy haha! You both look cool!
Ha, thanks! We were quite lucky overall Regina but that day was particularly sunny.
looks like it was a great and glorious day, even if it did mean sacrificing the london meetup 🙂
I know, it looks like it was a blast reading yours and Rachel’s blog!
