Readers, if you think I’m one of those who look forward to going shopping, think again. I don’t like shopping at all. That may partly explain why I am now making my own clothes. Going inside a clothes department store is akin to be sentenced to watching the Twilight Saga trilogy (no kidding, I’d much rather bang my head against the wall than going through this mental torture again). As for the incomparable delight of buying grocery, if online shopping isn’t an option, downing a couple of drinks beforehand definitely is. At the very least, it helps ease the pain when a full shopping trolley runs over your feet.
Christmas shopping, on the other hand, is a different kettle of fish as far as my experience goes. I’m drawn to Christmas window displays like a moth to a flame. Some of them are a truly magical experience to watch and I’m glad I had my camera with me that day. In Retail Wonderland, the magic of Christmas kicks off mid-November and provides an unforgettable experience to the Capital’s shoppers for a period of 6 weeks or so. London’s biggest retailers do their best to outdo each other in terms of window display extravaganza… for our greatest pleasure…allegedly! A shopping trip to London’s West End and I can guarantee your pockets will feel a lot lighter by the end of the day. That’s exactly what happened to me last week.
